    • These are the main things that have been keeping me reasonably sane this summer, What do you love in the summer?

You know those posts you see on Instagram that list their 5 happy things for the day etc? This is my long-form version of one of those. Tea will always be a feature and I have a separate post for tea lovers coming soon but this is my version of the lyrics of My Favourite Things from the sound of music from the summer of 2021 (not ’69 as my music brain is telling me)! This post is a little bit of everything and it’s one of my favourite posts to write and I haven’t done one in a while so I thought I’d bring it back.

This post does contain PR Products but all views and opinions are my own.

Podcasts

I’ve not been a huge fan of podcasts – that is until now. I now spend my Monday morning commute listening to Drama Queens which is the rewatch podcast that goes with One Tree Hill. This is a show which has always been one of my favourites and has become somewhat of a comfort blanket since March 2020. The podcast is hosted by the three main female actors from the show and hearing the BTS info from them and how they now feel rewatching the show is a great way to start the week.

Jewellery

As you’ll know if you’ve read some of my previous posts I am a big lover of jewellery. These pieces are by Ottoman Hands who have also done a range of Alice related jewellery for the exhibition at the V&A so I was instantly drawn to the brand from that point on. I chose three pieces from their range and I love them all so much. The ring above (Gold Feather Ring – £37)* is adjustable which means with weight fluctuations it fits a lot better than my other items. This ring is 21ct gold plated onto recycled brass which is a step away from my usual sterling silver jewellery that I tend to prefer but I love these pieces for summer as they look great with a bit more of a tan.

I also chose a couple of necklaces to add to my collection and I love them both so much. Both of them are in the sale which although means a bargain for you I’d act quickly to make sure you get any pieces you’ve had your eye on. The first is the moonstone necklace – £14* and the second is the Taurus Zodiac necklace – £20* which are both on longer length chains and fab for wearing with summer dresses. Something about summer means I love a longer chain – its longest can be 25cm but can also be adjusted to 18cm or 21cm depending on how feel. I just know these are going to get a lot of wear when we have our week away too.

Daytrips

Dunkeld, Perthshire

Now that things are changing In Scotland we’ve been able to go on more day trips and it’s making me so happy that we can get out and see more of this beautiful country. We’ve also been going for a long country walk on a Sunday morning which is great for getting out and about too. Speaking of being out, I’m getting to go to the Alice exhibition at the V&A next month so that will probably be a blog post as I’m spending the whole day in London.

These are the main things that have been keeping me reasonably sane this summer, What do you love in the summer?
