Here is an outline of data collected by this website – www.fromfiona.com
What personal information do I collect from people that visit my blog and why?
Name or username, email address, IP address and website URL. I also collect non-identifiable data such as browser information in order for me to see my website statistics. I use your data to run my site efficiently and to personalise the user experience.
How do I protect your information?
I never ask for credit card numbers or payment details. Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of people who have special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential. In addition, all information you supply is encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. I implement a variety of security measures when a user enters or submits their information to maintain the safety of your personal information.
I use Disqus for my comments, however, your email address and IP are stored by WordPress and Disqus for identification purposes. These will never be used or shared and you provided these by signing in to Disqus to leave the comment on my blog.
These cookies and the information they collect help improve this site for yourself and future visitors by monitoring the traffic of users and success of particular content. You can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies. You do this through your browser settings.
Embedded content from other websites
This site uses Google Analytics to collect information such as details of traffic and visitor behaviour patterns. I also occasionally check my stats on WordPress. You can opt out by using the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on. Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
Website back up
I back up my website regularly including all comments and personal data attached.
Do I share data?
I do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your Personally Identifiable Information unless required to do so by law. By entering a giveaway I will require name and email address which will be passed to the brand to send out a prize but these will be clearly stated in the terms and conditions of the giveaway to which you are entering.
How long do I retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. For users that register on my website (if any) the personal information you provide is in your user profile. All users can see, edit or delete their personal information at all times except usernames.
What rights you have over your data
If you have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data I hold about you, including any data you have provided to me. You can also request that I erase any personal data I hold about you. This does not include any data I’m obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Extra security information:
This website is secured by SSL. This website is protected by an online firewall which blocks hacking attempts and security breaches. If there is a breach or security issue I’m emailed immediately by my security provider. If there is a breach I will assess the risk to your personal data and report any significant risks to the correct authorities if necessary.
