For those of you that don’t know I work as a cashier for a foreign exchange firm and I love it. However, there is one downside to the job. When selling the currency we ask where the customer is going and while I love hearing the stories of people going to visit family or going on their honeymoon it’s all giving me serious wanderlust. I find myself making lists of places I’d love to visit and then I find that list getting even longer. There are some places that will always be on the list for personal/family reasons but I felt it was time to list the places I wish I was jetting off to for some winter sun this year.
Yes I know I spent 2 weeks in France – if you want to see the pictures take a look at my photo diary – but that just wasn’t enough sun and heat for my aching body this year. As you can imagine, my free time is spent looking up places I get my winter sun hit and I’ve been spending a lot of time on the Holiday Gems* website recently. I’ve chosen my picks from their site of where I’d love to visit and why but there are lots of other destinations to choose from too.
Croatia
Croatia is somewhere I’ve seen lots of bloggers visiting and looks amazing. Dubrovnik and Split are definitely top of my list but I’ll happily visit the rest of the country too. I’ve hit the stage where I could do with a break and some sun and I think Croatia will offer this for me.
Dubai
My sister in law moved out to Dubai at the start of the year and my god am I desperate to go out and visit. I love learning about new cultures and seeing new places and I think this would be a great place to visit for this reason. That and my body could really do with some heat. I know I keep promising to write a post about what’s wrong with my body and I swear when I figure it out I’ll let you know. What I do know is heat helps and if I visited Dubai I may never leave.
Portugal
While I’ve been to France an awful lot, Portugal is sownhere I’ve never visited and I have no idea why it hasn’t happened yet. Portugal is the place that I would be visiting not only for some sun but the food too. In case you weren’t aware I love my food and even better if I’m getting some winter sun too.
