Yes I wear a uniform for work. It creates consistency across the brand and makes us look more professional in a branch setting. This is also true for NHS uniforms and in most instances those are more important as you can tell a particular role by their uniform. I’ve written about the clothes that I feel comfortable in before and lets be honest that’s not usually a work uniform. Right now my uniform is washed, ironed and hanging in the wardrobe just waiting for when I can go back to work. With people not being able to travel it might be quite a while before I leave the house for work and while part of me is ok with this, part of me feels like I should be. There’s this other part of me that feels like I should be preparing to go back to work.
My uniform
While all my uniform has been company issued as you would expect it doesn’t all fit so I’ve been looking at options for buying items that match what I already have but that will actually fit. I’ve been able to find some white shirts that are a good match and I’m hoping to be able to some trousers that are the right shade of grey to match what we have to wear.
I love a 3/4 length sleeve for the summer as it keeps me covered but also cool enough without having to throw a jumper or a jacket on top. Healthcare workwear is in short supply across the country right now. It’s hugely important for infection control and healthcare workers in some cases are having to resort to buying their own uniform. Being married to a joiner who has to buy his own PPE etc I know how much this can cost. Overall, Alexandra is a site I really rate and I’d forgotten about until my manager reminded me of it when she told me she was getting her work shirts from there too. I’ll definitely be having a look at the PPE and business wear sections to see if we can get any of our usual purchases from other companies for a better price.
