It’s no secret that I have eczema and because of this, I’m always searching for a good hand cream. That’s where this guide to the best hand creams for eczema-prone skin comes in. These are all products I’ve been using for a while and don’t cause me any problems. Some of the products have been gifted (marked with an *) but all views and opinions are my own.
Cetraben Oatmeal Cream*
I’ve been using the Cetraben oatmeal cream* since I was sent it by the brand last year and I love it. I’ve posted about my love of Cetraben for eczema before and I had to include it in this list too. The oatmeal cream is my ultimate go-to when absolutely nothing else is working. It’s extremely soothing and I like to make sure I always have a spare of this just to be on the safe side.
Cetraben Lotion*

Cetraben Lotion* is amazing for my skin when my eczema flares. I’ve been scratching a lot more recently (apparently it happens when I’m stressed) and I’ve been applying this on those places that need extra moisture. Mostly the backs of my knees and the inside of my arms are where it gets the itchiest. This lotion not only moisturises but helps get rid of the itch too.
I’ve also taken to using the lotion on my hands after hand washing to provide a protective layer and to stop them from hurting. I struggle to get my hands dry so I end up rubbing them raw to get them properly dry. This helps to reduce the redness and doesn’t sting.
L’Occitane Cherry Blossom

I bought more of this L’Occitane Cherry Blossom hand cream when I was on holiday last year so I’m using it sparingly to make it last. For being a scented hand cream this is one I can use without having a reaction to which is impressive for my skin. I’ve also been using this less as I’ve been washing and sanitising my hands a lot more and I’m trying to keep the scents I use to a minimum.
My favourite thing about these hand creams is the design of the tube. I love the fact they’ve been made to look like pain tubes. It helps me keep them seperate from my face creams that can start to look a bit similar.
However, if you’re an office worker and looking for something to help your skin while you’re at work then this or any of the L’Occitane range is amazing. It comes in travel size (pictured) or a larger size for on your desk or bedside table.
L’Occitane Shea Butter

I’ve been lucky enough to have been bought the shea butter hand cream as a gift before and I adore it. I’ve taken to using this at work after using hand sanitiser to restore moisture to my hands. With dealing with large amounts of banknotes (varying countries) my hands dry out with all the sanitising I need to do. I have a travel size of this is in my hand bag and it’s great. There’s also a body lotion and foot cream in the range and I’d be lying if I didn’t want to try them all. I swear my L’Occitane wish list is longer than my arm.
Caudalie Hand and Nail Cream

I’ve had this sitting on the coffee table for the past week and it’s been a lifesaver. Caudalie refers to their hand and nail cream as a cult product and I can see why. I swear I’ve been using this even when I don’t need to and that’s down to how it leaves my skin feeling. I’ve been getting some itchiness from hand washing and this is helping get rid of that. I’m trying to use it less often as it’s the most heavily scented of the creams I own and can become overpowering after a while.

Hope you’ve enjoyed my round-up of the hand creams for eczema that work for me. I seem to have a rotation going as they all do slightly different things as well as trying to decide what mood I’m in too sometimes.
