I’m trying to write an introduction for this post without sounding like a blogger cliche but unfortunately, I think this post will include all the stereotypes and cliches and that way I can get them all out of my system in one go.
There was a post on the Thirty Plus website offering ten lucky bloggers the opportunity to review the new paperback edition of Pretty Honest by Sali Hughes. I popped an email off as requested and then kept my fingers crossed. Luckily enough I was chosen and was so happy when it arrived.
In case you weren’t aware, the original hardback copy of Pretty Honest in hardback sold over 20,000 copies and this new version in paperback is due to be released on 25th February 2016. Sali is the beauty editor for the Guardian and founder of salihughesbeauty.com. The main thing that struck me about this book was that it’s not one that you sit and attempt to read cover to cover. In my opinion, Pretty Honest is a book which should be on your bedside table and that you dip in and out of when there is a topic you want to read up on. Alternatively, I would read a few sections a night and then keep it in a safe place because I can guarantee that you will want to go back and refer to the information contained within its pages.
Sali’s book doesn’t discriminate, or make you feel lesser because you need to turn to her book but is truthful, relatable, funny and basically tells you what you need to know. I can’t recommend this book highly enough and this new gorgeous paperback version is available from Amazon – RRP £16.99.
