I find buying Christmas gifts stressful. I never know what to get and most o the time I end up asking people what they would like instead of trying to think of it myself. My work is also doing secret Santa this year and if like me you need some extra help with that to buy for that too then I’ve broken this post down into categories (yes it’s going to be a long one) to help you find the perfect gift for the people you love.

For Foodies
Based on my travel posts its no secret that I love France and especially the food. This Olive Oil gift set* (£29.90) is perfect for the Francophile in your life. The tin includes a pouch of herbes de Provence, a tin of the most amazing olive oil and 2 jars – one of tapenade and one of dried tomato paste. The oil is extra virgin olive oil which means I won’t be using it for cooking. The plan is to have some nice bread on Christmas day, a platter of continental cured meats and this oil with some balsamic vinegar in it. It will also be amazing as an oil for a French-style vinaigrette too.
It’s sold by Sous Chef who have lots of gift sets on their site. I adore the sets that come with a cookbook and are great if you know which cuisine someone loves or has been wanting to try.
They also kindly gifted me with the bottle of Truffle Oil* (100ml bottle – £7.95) in the picture below. I’ve never used Truffle oil before but I know it can be used to drizzle over a finished dish to add some extra flavour. I’m very excited to give it a try as even though I’ve visited the part of France that is famous for their truffles I’ve never actually tried one. This would also make a fab stocking filler for the foodie in your life.
The Shake N’ Store* food container is an ingenious piece of kitchen equipment and something that you can add to a secret Santa if you’re running out of ideas. Basically you pop the plastic container over any size of tin and tip the contents in. You then pop the lid on and move the dial on top to the day it was stored. It’s a great way to store any leftovers as well as making sure you use them up before they go off. I always find its part open tins of baked beans that I can never find something to store them in but that search is now over.
Do you know someone that loves tea and you’ve run out of ideas? Look no further than Adagio Tea*. They kindly sent me a selection of Tinsel Teas and a festive gift selection. I’m not a huge lover of herbal and fruit teas myself but for anyone that is these are a fab range of new flavours for your loved ones to try.
My husband is having lots of fun with the advent calendar that I was sent too. So far we have lots of new flavours to try and enough tea to keep me going well into the middle of next year (at the earliest). My favourite item from the website is the glass mug with infuser which makes making loose leaf tea that much easier.
For Beauty Lovers
Radical Tea Towel specialise in political, feminist and literary gifts and I’ve spent way too much time perusing their website recently. I think I could create a wish list from that site that’s as long as my arm.
I think this William Morris Cosmetic Bag* (£18) makes an amazing gift. You can gift it on its own to someone that loves William Morris or you can include it in a gift for someone that travels a lot. I’ll be honest I was tempted to keep this for myself but in the end I decided on the perfect recipient.
As cosmetics bags it’s amazingly roomy and therefore perfect to gift with lots of goodies hidden inside. Too often I’ve been guilty of gifting toiletries without thinking about how they’ll be stored.
If William Morris isn’t something anyone would like then Radical Tea Towel also have some gorgeous suffragette and votes for women bags too.
I love the I Love Cosmetics English Rose Range. I’ve been gifted several products by the brand and I would honestly recommend them all as Christmas or birthday presents.
The reed diffuser* (£15) is my absolute favourite. Even my scent-hating husband hasn’t noticed its presence in the bedroom so I’ll take that as a win! Although its floral its a very subtle scent which is also great for my asthma as it doesn’t make me hyperventilate.
In the same English Rose scent there’s also the large candle* (£15) which comes in a gorgeous fabric bag; the hand cream* (£5) which is vegan and cruelty free and the travel set* (£10) which has a shower gel and votive size of the candle. These all come in other scents too if Rose isn’t your thing. I think my next reed diffuser will be vanilla as I’d love to give that one a try.
For Stationery Lovers
This is the second notebook I’ve been sent by Quick Witted Coconut* and I love it. They’re a great size for popping in my handbag and with all the design options they’re fab as a secret Santa present for the stationery lover at work.
