What you may not know about me is that I love interior design and watching home improvement programmes. Having lived in rented in accommodation and now living with my parents it’s not been something I’ve been able to do so I decided a blog post would be a great way to show the designs I love without actually having to redecorate in the process.

Textiles/Soft Furnishings
I’ve been loving having a pop of colour with soft furnishings and especially something like a mustard yellow now we’re into autumn. With it getting colder this means I now also want all the blankets and hot water bottles to keep me warm.
When it comes to bedding I wish I could have plain white hotel-style bedding but with being married to a joiner it’s never going to happen. I do however have a gorgeous set that’s black and white polka dot (think *that* Zara dress) and I love it. I found a Superking duvet and two pillowcases set from Dunelm for £25 which for that size of duvet cover is a definite bargain.
Loft Conversions
I really love the style of loft conversions and think they can be done really well if done properly. Live in Lofts can cover everything you need and make sure you get the best lof conversion possible. You do need to check planning regulations for your council as well as having a think about what you’re going to use the space for.
Flooring
Being married to a joiner means that I have opinions on flooring. I really don’t like laminate but that might be because I take on the opinions of the person that would be fitting the flooring. Engineered wood flooring is definitely the way forward as it’s long-lasting and it has the quality and finish of solid wood flooring without the price tag. There are lots of Engineered Wood Flooring options with wood type and plank length (believe me depending on the size of the room this is important) and it’s a breeze for fitting, or so I’ve been told. I’ll be honest I genuinely love any wood flooring as it’s durable and better for anyone with allergies or any form of asthma.
Bookcases
Of course any interior design style for me needs to have bookcases. Yes plural, we have so many books that if we ever own our own home then we’ll probably need to turn one room into a library. I have no problem with this so long as I can have a comfy chair and a fire to keep me warm when I’m reading my favourite stories.
