My photo diary of my trip to New York will be coming soon, but in the meantime, I want to share some of the items of clothing that I took with me. As the title suggests these are the items that I consider to be my wardrobe essentials and the items that I always have on hand when I need an outfit I feel comfortable in.Pink Clove were kind enough to send me three items for me to take on holiday and review on my site. For those of you who don’t know, Pink Clove are an online retailer specialising in clothing for women who are size 16 – 28. Now I know I’m not “plus size” but recently I’ve been finding that a size 16 is more comfortable and you know what the size of my clothing is just a number. I’d rather be comfortable in what I wear than worry about the number on the label. This is also where I admit to not being a fashion blogger at all and have a horrible feeling I could have done better with my picture taking.
Black blazer jacket (£24) – My wardrobe is never complete unless it has at least one black jacket in it. I think at this point I may have about three but not all of them fit properly. Yes, I know in this pic it looks a bit big but it’s actually hiding the food baby I made on holiday. For me, a black blazer is the item of clothing that take a casual outfit and make it suitable for a smarter occasion. I wore this outfit to go for dinner in London and didn’t feel like I was bringing down the tone of the establishment.
Keep on dancing T-shirt (£12) – I’d be kidding myself if a t-shirt wasn’t one of my essentials. As an ex-dancer, I fell in love with this as soon as I saw it on the website. there is, however, one issue with this t-shirt – it’s too short. I have fairly large boobs and I may like my t-shirts slightly longer than the average girl but this one is far too short for me. It’s not a crop top but that’s how it feels to me. If it was an inch or two longer I would be in love but as it is I think this item may be destined for the charity shop.
Oversized Cardigan (£20) – It may seem odd that one of my essentials for a summer holiday is a cardigan but it came in really handy for early mornings when it was still a bit chilly or in the evenings when we were going out for dinner. I get cold easily so a cardigan is a must and finding a long one with pockets has made me extremely happy.
Overall I love the items I was sent and other than the T-shirt are all items I will wear again and again. I’ve also noticed that Pink Clove do a 20% student discount which is a great motivator for me to purchase from them again.
