It’s been a while since I’ve written a round up of what I’ve been up to. This month was a bit of a wash out for me as I ended up being ill (again) and hiding inside with a cough and a cold that just wouldn’t shift. However, this did mean that I got a fair bit of reading done as well as some Netflix watching too.

Wearing

I was sent this gorgeous ring by Daisy Jewellery* and it’s not come off my finger since it arrived. It’s a woven stacking ring (£39) and the weave on the silver is exquisite yet perfecttly smooth on the inside of the ring. It’s sterling silver (925) whcih is my favourite when it comes to jewellery. I went for a medium which is size M and is a perfect fit for me. They even go as low as XS (which is a J) and this means I’ll be able to get rings that fit my wedding ring finger.

Yes in that second picture my scarf has made a comeback. It’s gone from being warm to freezing in what feels like a day. This scarf came from New Look last year and is a great way of injecting some colour into an outfit with the bright yellow.

Not long ago I had most of my hair chopped off and then Kirstie of Autumn and Belle* offered to send me a couple of scrunchies to try. They’re beautiful and even with my short hair, I can rock a stylish ponytail. As you may have guessed from my scarf above I love yellow as an accent colour, especially in Autumn so these will be perfect for my Autumn wardrobe. Unfortunately the scrunchies I was sent have sold out but there are lots of choices on the Etsy shop.
Reading

I’ve been getting lots of reading done this year and I’m not far away from my Goodreads goal for this year. I’m currently reading Chain of Gold by Cassandra Clare which is a Shadowhunters book set in post-Victorian London (approx 1902). Thankfully I have this on kindle as it’s a genuine doorstop of a book. You don’t need to have read the others to read this but it does help.
USING

I’ve really taken the time to figure out what my skin needs and it turns out what it was missing was an oil. This rosehip seed oil by The Ordinary (£10) is amazing and is giving my skin the extra moisture that it craves. I’ve been mixing a couple of drops with my moisturiser and night cream as I’ve found that’s the easiest way to apply the oil.
My skin is dangerously dry and the oil gives it some protection, especially with having to wear a face mask to get to and from work. There is more skincare I’ve been testing out recently but I’ve decided to save that for a full skincare update post coming soon.

If you know me then you’ll know that I love wax melts and scented candles. I was sent two to try by Autumn & Belle* and the Halcyon d’Or (£3.25) is a gorgeous scent. My bedroom currently smells of vanilla and rose and I’m in love. The wax melt is made from soy with a total burn time of 40 hours. Kirstie was also kind enough to send me scents that wouldn’t trigger any allergies as she uses pure essential oils to get the best scent possible.
