Let’s face it we all lead increasingly busy lives these days. That’s ok and if you like being busy it can be great but we all need to take time out to relax, chill out and basically recharge.
This post will be a combination of what I do when I feel the need to recharge after a hard week and maybe also provide a bit of inspiration for anyone trying to plan a relaxing Mother’s Day.
- Find your comfiest clothes and the biggest, warmest pairs of socks you own as well as a big fluffy blanket – warmth is very important!
- Pop the kettle on for a hot water bottle and a hot beverage of your choice. Mine is a lovely mug of English Breakfast tea but if you prefer coffee or hot chocolate I won’t judge.
- Light a candle – scented or unscented the choice is yours. My current favourite is Black Cherry by Yankee Candle as it does a fantastic job of keeping the air beautifully scented without being too sickly sweet either.
- Pull out the adult colouring books and plenty of pencils. My current favourites are shown in the picture below. This fangirl loves Harry Potter and Doctor Who. The Sherlock colouring book is also on my wishlist of colouring books to own.
There you have it, my key methods of relaxation. If this is on Mother’s Day then the colouring books, pencils and candle would make a lovely gift (other candle scents and colouring books are available). Also, the ultimate in relaxation can also be someone else providing the hot drinks and hot water bottles.
