I am a bit of a magpie when it comes to shiny things and candles. Shells are also a bit of a weakness – weird considering I’m allergic to shellfish – but I just find them really pretty. This is where Woodpecker & Weasel* comes in. Clare makes candles and dishes from oyster and scallop shells which she has kindly sent me for review.Included in the box that arrived were a scallop ring dish and a lavender oyster shell candle which you can see in the picture below. The scallop shell dish has become a permanent feature next to my bed for small pieces of jewellery that I wear on a regular basis.
So far I haven’t burned the candle as my husband is allergic to lavender and I don’t want to set off his allergies by burning it. Plus, just look at it – it’s way too pretty to light. My best friend and fellow blogger AJ from Love and Other Awesome Stuff is being a total lifesaver and burning her lavender candle for me so I can find out what it’s like. She is also a candle aficionado so I trust her candle knowledge and judgement.
