This year I was spoiled by my husband and my friends and thought I would share the gifts I was given and whether any of them paid attention to the post I wrote this year where I listed the gifts I would have liked to have received this year. I was spoiled and was lucky to receive one item that I’d been lusting after for quite some time.
Alice in Wonderland
My wonderful best friend bought me the leatherbound copy of Alice in Wonderland that I’d been wanting for a while and it now has pride of place on my bookshelf next to the leatherbound copy of Jekyll and Hyde that was also a gift. I may be having issues holding books right now and not reading as much as I should but there is something about a leatherbound copy of my favourite book that I love. Plus the cover has flamingoes on it which makes it the most awesome thing I own right now.
L’Occitane Cherry Blossom
My lovely husband bought me the limited edition set that was on my birthday list and I love it. The set contained an eau de toilette, shower gel, body lotion and hand cream and came in the most gorgeous L’Occitane gift box that ties up with ribbon. I’ve been using the hand cream but I’ve been saving the rest of the set for our holiday to London this year so I have some treats to take with me.
This is the first book of a new series by two of my favourite authors and I’m so in love with the characters of this world that I used the Amazon voucher I was given for my birthday and preordered the second book in this series which comes out next month. I wish it was arriving sooner as I have a trip away with work and it would have been nice to have something new to read. Instead, I think I’ll see what I have on my kindle that I can re-read while I’m away.
I was truly spoiled this year and decided to include the items that I treated myself to this year as presents to my self too. I was accepted into the Leadership Development Programme at work so these were combined birthday and celebratory presents for myself.
First up we have the Disney x Cath Kidston Alice in Wonderland purse that I bought on release day. Can we all say superfan? It’s so pretty and I was getting fed up with trying to find a black purse inside a black handbag. Now my purse is really easy to spot and I’m also less likely to lose it this way.
Secondly, I finally treated myself to the Urban Decay Naked Petite Heat which I had been swithering about for some time. It has all the shades I love from the full-size palette but doesn’t come with a brush. This palette is the perfect size for travel and will get a lot of use when we’re away this summer. I will try and post a review/first impressions of this palette when I can.
