5 Things To Do in Liverpool

It’s been a long time since I went to Liverpool but it’s somewhere that I would love to go back to and I’ve made a list of the 5 things I really want to do the next time I manage to make it down there. I could have gone on for a lot longer but decided I should keep it to a manageable number.

1. Check Out Liverpool ONE
When I was looking up things to do in Liverpool I came across Liverpool One, which is, one of the most popular retail destinations across the whole of Europe. There’s a huge selection of shops, a cinema and even a two 18-hole crazy golf courses. You’ll also find Chavasse Park which is a terraced green space that looks like it would be perfect for a stroll and or a picnic.

2. The Beatles
No trip to Liverpool is complete unless it has something to do with the Beatles. At the Albert Dock is where you’ll find the largest permanent exhibition devoted to the fab four and the attraction takes you on a journey through the band’s career and music.

3. The World Museum
On William Brown Street there is the World Museum which is packed full of information. I love visiting museums as it’s a great way to learn an I’m particularly looking forward to the new displays which will be there when the Ancient World Gallery’s redevelopment is finished.

4. “Ferry Cross the Mersey”
Now this is one that I have done in the past and how the staff don’t go insane listening to that song on repeat I will never know. River Explorer Cruises start at Pier Head and last for 50 minutes, giving you the chance to hop off and on at Woodside and Seacombe Ferry Terminals if you want to explore the Wirral.

5. Tate Liverpool
One of the most popular galleries in the UK outside of London, it stages a range of special exhibitions throughout the year. In recent years, works from the likes of Pablo Picasso, Claude Monet and Gustav Klimt have all been showcased there. There are also displays from the National Collection that you can see free of charge, including works by Barbara Hepworth and Henri Matisse.

One of the things I can honestly say about Liverpool is there is something for everyone, whether that’s shopping, sightseeing (the Liver birds are a personal favourite), history or culture and I can’t wait for my next visit.
