Holidays I’ve Never Considered: All Inclusive

Holidays are one of those things that mean so many things to different people. To me, they are a chance to visit new places and see different things. To others, they can be a trip to somewhere that holds special meaning or just a place that you love going back to.Other than our trip to New York and all our London trips (yes there have been a few over the years) all the holidays I’ve taken have been self-catering. This is usually due to the fact that we like to do what we want and when we want to do it and not on anybody else’s timetable. In the past, I would have dismissed all-inclusive without a second thought as for some odd reason they’ve never really appealed to me. However, since looking up some all-inclusive holidays I can say that I would definitely consider booking one in the future. There are a lot more positives to this type of holiday than I would have assumed and I’m going to cover the things I look for when booking a holiday and how an all-inclusive can fit into what I want from a holiday.

Freedom

Yes, I know most of you just pictured Mel Gibson and for that, I apologise but for I think this is the most important aspect of a holiday for me. What I’d never realised about all-inclusive is that you can do what you want and when you want to which appeals to me massively. I may be a planner most of the time but I also love having days where I can just relax and not have to do something because I’m being told I have to.

Luxury

Some of the premier (adult only resorts) look absolutely amazing and there are some with spa facilities too which is just up my street. Obviously, you need to pay a bit more for this but holidays are treats so why not have some relaxation while you’re there.

Food

Now this is where a lot of my worry stems from. As an allergy sufferer I am constantly worrying about whether I’ll ingest something I can’t have but after looking at some menus it’s definitely put my mind at ease about what would be on offer at an all-inclusive resort. Also, any holiday that actively offers me afternoon tea is going to score highly. Also, the idea of being able to eat when I’m hungry is a huge appeal to me too. I am known to get ‘hangry’ on occasion so this would definitely solve that problem.

Travel

Included with your holiday are flights and all your luggage allowances which I can say are generous for a holiday operator. I like to know that I can pack as much as I want and also have some space to bring back gifts for family and friends. What’s even better is I can fly direct from my local airport which cuts out a whole level of stress that sometimes you just don’t need when going on holiday.

Have you been on an all inclusive holiday and would recommend it?
