Last week I packed my suitcase and felt like I was running away from home with the amount of stuff that I was taking with me. It was all necessary items I might add (well 90% was anyway). Thursday was the day I had been looking forward to for so long – the Girl Gang event organised by the lovely Jemma.
The day before the event I found out that the lovely Tore would be getting the same train as me to Manchester which was so much fun as this was my first official blog event and it was nice to meet someone beforehand and not be going into the venue alone. Speaking of there were several of us that met in the station and we all headed off to Dive together.
There were so many bloggers that I wanted to meet all in the one room and I’m not sure I managed to speak to everyone I wanted to. First order of the day was a talk from Claire at Pinkster Gin all about the product, some samples which we could take away and the chance to try some. I, however, declined as I’m just not that keen on gin. I did come away with a bottle for a charity ball raffle that I’m organising and there’ll be more info on that here nearer the time.
The rest of the day was spent chatting with lots of bloggers and also having some yummy food at Dive NQ and it’s as I attempt to write this post that I realise I am a terrible blogger and only took one picture at the event and its the one above of the lovely looking cupcakes made by Carrieanne.
After all the fun there was the raffle and although I didn’t win anything we did raise over £300 for Liverpool Whitechapel Homeless Charity which is a fab amount to have raised. Jemma was also kind enough to have organised a goody bag for us all and oh my god, the work that must have gone into that. If you want to know all the brands involved then you can have a read of Jemma’s post all about the fabulous companies that sent items for the goody bag. A special mention from me to Miss Organics who when I mentioned I have a citrus allergy was amazing and created a special facial oil specifically for me with none of mine or my husband’s allergens and I am so grateful for companies that take the extra time and effort for people with allergies.

After the event, I got the time to have dinner and a chat with some of the bloggers I hadn’t during the day which was good and also a few drinks with Holly, Jade and Jess (Jade’s non-blogger friend but an amazing person). With all the travel, drinking and fun I was in bed and sound asleep by 11pm.

The following day I was travelling down to London with Holly but we needed to fuel ourselves for the journey which meant food and caffeine. Kat recommended Moose Coffee in Manchester and they did not disappoint. Three huge pancakes with bacon and a pot of tea meant I could face the day and the train journey to London. I’ve decided to split this post into two and very soon I’ll be posting what I managed to fit in when I had less than 24 hours in London.
I absolutely loved my time away at the Girl Gang Event and can’t wait to see more bloggers in the future.
