It wouldn’t be autumn if I was hanging onto the idea of sunshine and heat for dear life and dreaming of my next holiday but reminiscing about the one I’ve just been on. This year we spent a week in London – which as you all know by now is a city I love – along with a fun day trip to Belgium and France. Quite honestly neither of us wanted to come home from France but we’ve compromised on this by making it our holiday destination for next year.

Sightseeing

Of course, we did a lot of sightseeing while we were in London and even managed to do a few things that I’ve never done before including a slightly wet trip to London Zoo and a drier one to St Dunstan in the East which is a beautiful church that was destroyed during the Blitz but was never rebuilt.

Honestly, I love spending sunny days wandering the streets of London and taking photos but my husband isn’t always so keen to do this so we spent a lot of time in restaurants and coffee shops resting our aching feet.

Eating our way around London

Breakfast on our first morning in the city was at the Fable and I love this restaurant so much. The food was amazing and we’ve made a promise to ourselves to eat there at least once the next time we’re in London (which for me is next month). We also ate at a few old favourites including Bodeans, Wagamama and The Stable which was great and we also found a new love for Cote Brasserie too. Hopefully, we can visit the Glasgow one soon as I need some more French food in my life.

What I Wore

I find packing for a city break monumentally difficult as I like wearing different clothes to what I wear all the time at home but I also like sticking to the things that I find comfortable. I wore this Miraclesuit kaftan that I was gifted by UK Swimwear* out to dinner one evening and felt relaxed yet dressed if that makes sense? I like the fact that I can wear this kaftan in different ways and it’ll be perfect for throwing over my swimsuit when we’re in France next year. In this photo, I’ve teamed it with my trusty black skinny jeans and I’ve got a vest top underneath as it’s very see-through but in the heat of summer, I would consider a cute bandeau top instead.

Well, that’s it, this is what I got up to on my summer holiday and I’m now counting down the days to next year’s holiday already. If you’re planning your own trip to London then this post written by Miss LJ Beauty will be a fab help for you.
