Shopping for Sensitive Skin

online chemist

If you’ve read this blog before or my Dermatique review then you’ll know that I have a horrific time with allergies and eczema. What I find more annoying is that all my products seem to run out at the same time and even though I work in a shopping centre finding the time to actually go shopping never happens as I’m usually too busy eating and grabbing a quick cup of tea before going back to my box under the stairs. The other issue I’ve been finding lately is finding somewhere online that sells all the products (or at least a decent selection of products) that are suitable for someone with allergy prone and itchy skin. I think I’ve finally found what I’ve been looking for in the website Chemist 4 U*. They have a huge selection of standard pharmacy products, as well as ones for people with what they refer to as embarrassing conditions but in actual fact is a great way of listing the conditions that most of us would be using to try and find what we’re looking for.

They also offer an online prescription service but as far as I can tell it’s only for NHS England which is a shame but I can understand why it’s not available across the country at the moment. If you’re interested in the electronic prescription service then follow the link and watch the video to find out more.

Now what you’ve all been waiting for – to see what I chose from the site and why they fit my needs for keeping me going and keeping my numerous skin complaints under control.

Sanex Shower Gel

Sanex Zero % shower gel is one of the only shower gels I can use that doesn’t make me itchy as soon as I’ve got out of the shower. I know it looks boring and is one of the reasons I don’t change what I use in the shower but honestly if it means I’m not ripping my skin off I’m happy.

Sanex Deodorant

I had been using Dove but after seeing some of their problematic advertising decided that they’re not a brand that will be getting my money again. After this decision though came the issue of what I could replace it with. My bestie AJ suggested I try the Sanex deodorant as I already use the shower gel and it’s been fab. I can’t use sprays due to my asthma but this is one of the best roll on deodorants I’ve found and will definitely be buying more of it.

Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Body Treatment

I’ve heard some very good things about this Elizabeth Arden cream and I wanted to put it to the test for myself. The cream is designed to hydrate and moisturise the skin as well as reversing dryness and flaking. With it getting colder, I’ve been getting itchier and this has been helping to keep my skin soft and free from rashing as much as it usually does.

Venus & Olay Razor Blades

I love these razor blades as they mean I don’t need to try and find a shaving cream that doesn’t make me want to rip my skin off after I’ve used it. They were reduced when I picked up them from Chemist 4 U which made them a great purchase as the price is usually what puts me off buying them.

I loved the Chemist 4 U service but the only thing I didn’t like was that I didn’t receive a dispatch email when my parcel was on its way but it did make for a nice surprise when it turned up. All in all, I would  definitely recommend Chemist 4 U

What do you think of my choices?
