Christmas Party Hair*

Once upon a long time ago I thought I always needed to do something to my hair for Christmas parties and gatherings. I have thick hair and a lot of it and most hairdressers would complain about even attempting an updo for me. Then I had a realisation. I could make sure my hair is in the best condition it can be and just looking fantastic. These are my go to steps for making sure my hair is Christmas party ready and always looking it’s best.

Haircut (and colour)

If I have the time I always have a fresh haircut and colour done prior to any big parties. This ensures my hair is in the best condition it can be and the colour is actually even. You have no idea how many pictures I’ve seen of myself where the colour is atrocious and it’s made me more conscious of having my hair dealt with by a hairdresser for the perfect Christmas party hair* look.

Styling

Styling my newly cut and coloured hair is the next step in making sure my hair is Christmas party ready. I straighten my hair and use a serum to protect it from the heat. I also apply the same serum after straightening to make sure it sits flat. Curling is not an option for my hair type but if it works for you then fab! This is also a conversation you can have with your hairdresser to make sure you’re doing what’s best for your hair type.

I’m addicted to making sure my hair isn’t frizzy and I’ve written a whole post before on the products I use to achieve the sleek look in the photo.

I hope this post has helped you find Christmas party hair ideas and you have an amazing time. If you have any ideas on what else I can do with my hair then feel free to let me know in the comments. I’d also love to know what you do with your hair at this time of year.
