Mid March Catch Up

I figured a catch up with me and what I’ve been getting up to was overdue as I’ve not been blogging much recently. The dissertation is close to completion and I’m so excited to be this close to finishing my degree.

On a related note, you may have seen me tweeting that I’ve been having problems with my hands recently. I had x-rays taken and although there’s nothing wrong (other than the congenital deformity in my pinky) I’m still in a lot of pain. This means holding a pen for too long is painful as is typing for too long too. I’ve been lucky enough to have support from disability services within the university who have helped me get the changes I need to be able to finish my course. They’re just minor things but they do make all the difference in the long run. I also filmed a video for a module during the week and while I’ll never do YouTube it was good to give something else a try and to use a different app to create the video too and embed links and a couple of examples of my photography.

Speaking of photography I’m so glad spring is here as I’ll finally have natural light to take my pics for blog posts. Although I am rather proud of these photos I took last week after Caketoppers* sent me two personalised cupcakes to try. They sent a vanilla one and a chocolate one and they were both fab (or so I’m told, as I didn’t eat the chocolate one). Although they’d been posted out the sponge was nice and soft and the icing was a good thickness which gave me an awesome sugar boost to get some dissertation writing done.

Saturday was the day I ventured to Liverpool for the day to say goodbye to Jemma aka Dorkface aka the most supportive blogger ever before she moves to Plymouth with Gary. I did a bit of baking to take with me for the girls and we had lunch as well as a fab chat before I had to leave to get my train home again. I somehow only managed to take 2 photos and they were both of my lunch. I love how they turned out and that’s without any editing which I’m damn proud of. At the moment I’m celebrating the little victories and it’s definitely working out for me.

The rest of the month I will be concentrating on my dissertation, exam revision as well as a sneaky couple of days in London which I’m very excited for.

Hopefully, I can get back to more regular blogging when my schedule is a better more normal than it is at the moment.

Hope you enjoyed my catch up and if you want to find me I’ll be on Twitter.
